Position Overview:

As a Plant Hire Controller, you will be responsible for managing a fast-paced and busy hire desk, ensuring the effective hiring, rehiring, and sourcing of plant equipment from third-party suppliers. The role requires you to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients while ensuring all aspects of equipment hire are efficiently handled.

Key Responsibilities:

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external clients to facilitate smooth operations.

· Oversee the daily operations of a busy hire desk, ensuring the availability of plant and equipment at the required times.

· Source, hire, and rehire equipment from third-party suppliers, ensuring competitive rates and prompt delivery.

· Handle client queries with professionalism, ensuring prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.

· Ensure all paperwork related to hires is completed accurately and kept up to date.

· Use CRM systems such as Syrinx, Inspire, or similar software to manage bookings, track equipment, and keep records of transactions.

Requirements:

· Previous experience in plant hire, logistics, or equipment management is essential.

· Familiarity with Syrinx, Inspire, or other similar CRM platforms.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills for managing relationships with clients and suppliers.

· Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to resolve issues and handle queries in a calm and professional manner.

· Meticulous attention to detail when handling paperwork and ensuring accurate records are maintained.

· Knowledge of plant machinery and equipment.

· Experience in a similar role within the construction or plant hire industry.

· A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
